Despite what the image might imply, I don’t write with a typewriter. I love the aesthetic… but I’m pretty sure the clickety-clackety keys would drive me bonkers.
For the next few months, I’m going to be participating in the 100 Days Writing Challenge on Facebook. Lately, I’ve been having a hard time forcing myself to write. With an easily attainable goal of 250 words a day, this challenge seemed like a (mostly) pain-free way to get some words on the page.
The challenge started on September 1st, and I’ve written a few thousand words already. 250 words a day is easy; I’ve surpassed that goal every day. It’s writing something that I actually feel excited about that’s the real challenge.
I’ve been using some writing prompts to get the creative juices flowing, and I have two somewhat-okay short stories now. Maybe I’ll do something with them one day. Maybe they’ll just sit gathering digital dust. In any case, I’m getting some words on paper (so to speak), and it feels pretty good.
